It made me smile,

Right after I finished my last post, Brandon handed me a letter I received in the mail from the Preeclampsia Foundation. I opened it and found that it was from the Executive Director of the Foundation!! She wanted to thank me for what I'm trying to do and to wish me luck on my training!
Wow!!! I feel so good right now!
The past couple of days I have really been questioning if what I'm doing is right or even worth the effort. Thank you, Ms. Tsigas for reassuring me in my journey. You really made my day!www.preeclampsia.org

If it's not this, it's that...

Last week was a good week, a challenging week, but a good week. Brandon was gone to the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville for the whole week. I ended up with a seriously bad sinus infection and all 3 kids were sick too! Fun!! I decided that it was time to nip this 'never ending' snottiness in the bud. Antibiotics all around!
By Friday the 17th we were all doing pretty good and ready for our annual trip to the show. This was also Roddick's 7th birthday (7 already?? really??) He was born while Brandon was at the farm show. An emergency c-section brought him home early. Unfortunately, he didn't make it in time and Roddick was waiting on him when he got to the hospital. Glad he was there because the next few days brought my 1st experience with Eclampsia, 2 seizures. Fast forward 7 years and now I'm running for the cause. I think I'm blessed to have the chance to give back!
With all this said, this last week left the pages of my running journal blank. I was able to teach my classes at the gym but there was no life in these legs to pull out anything else. Sunday I finally got a chance to run and I anticipated a very hard, sluggish outing. But to my surprise I ran like the wind. I pulled out 7 miles (not sure from where it came, but I'm not going to question a good thing!) and felt great the whole way. Now times that by ~6 or so, and I'll be ready for the 50. :-P  I did roll my ankle at mile 4 and have had some stress on my lower leg from it but I'm determined to get it back healthy quick!
My next big run will be at Land Between the Lakes in march. I'm really looking forward to it. 14 miles of beautiful trail! This will be only my 2nd time in a trail race. Friends and family will be running too so it's bound to be a great time!
Here's to a not so challenging week ahead! ;-)
